Abstract

This research focuses on the effectiveness of intercultural competence in the English language while assessing project-based learning. The English language has gained its status as a lingua franca just due to the use of a wide range of people who belong to different territories of the world. As the aim of this study is to examine the perceptions of undergraduate students regarding the integration of project-based learning for fostering intercultural competence, the qualitative method has been used to analyze the data; for data collection, snowball sampling techniques were used to collect the desired data. This esteemed research finds various helpful findings: the EFL learners have enhanced their language proficiency even in divergent intercultural environments and they have been exposed having diverse cultural perspectives in their classroom settings. Not only the students of EFL have increased their cultural sensitivity and awareness but also these cultural sensitivity perspectives helped them to trigger their communicative competence. These concerns auxiliary their motivation and engagement in their learning environment. Furthermore, the effectiveness of intercultural competence in the English language has become the core cause to show on the positive attitude toward diversity. Likewise, the perceptions of the students related to integration of the project-based learning have boosted their intercultural competence.
